School Guidelines Regarding Covid-19

  • Please write your students full name in their mask and provide either a lanyard to attach to mask or provide a brown paper bag for storage when mask is not being used(example at lunch)
  • Please make sure student removes any hat, ball cap, or  head covering five minutes prior to temp check during carpool(we retain heat in our heads)
  • If you have a student that registers a temp you may circle around and come back through the carpool line for a recheck. If the student still has a fever then all siblings or riders in the car will have to go home as well as the student with the fever.
  • If your student develops any of the following symptoms you will need to come pick up your student.  FEVER,  NEW COUGH,   CHILLS,  LOSS OF TASTE/SMELL,  SHORTNESS OF BREATH/DIFFICULTY BREATHING
  • To follow state guidelines, we have a separate monitored Covid room that your student will wait in until parent/guardian arrives within a one hour time frame.
  • In the circumstance that you are called to pick your student up for Covid-19 symptoms please have a plan already in place. You will need to pick up your student within an hour or the school will call 911. Please be sure you have provided an accurate contact number.  For the safety of others it will not be acceptable to leave your student longer than the allotted hour given.
  • If your student is diagnosed with Covid-19 themselves I am required to notify our local health department of this information.
  • If a staff member or student is exposed to someone with confirmed Covid-19 they must quarantine for 14 days even with a negative test.
  • If a staff member or student is diagnosed with Covid-19 they must quarantine for 10 days and   symptom free for a minimum of 24 hours without medication.
  • If a staff member or student develops any symptoms mentioned above they must meet ONE of the following three criteria to return to school:
  1. If diagnosed with Covid-19 based on a test or symptom(s) or does not get a Covid-19 test but has had symptoms, student may return to school when:
  1. At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared; And
  2. They have been fever free without the use of fever-reducing medicines for 24 hours;  And
  3. Improvement in any respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath)
  1. If student has had a negative PCR Covid-19 test, they may either provide proof of the negative test result or documentation from a licensed healthcare provider that clears them to come back to school as well as symptom improvement including no fever within 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications. Proof of a negative PCR test will allow all siblings to return as well.
  2. A student can return to school if they receive an alternative diagnosis from a licensed health care provider that would explain the COVID-19 like symptoms and again have been fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications. This alternate diagnosis will serve as adequate proof to excuse all siblings to return as well.
