Andrew Peterson – Board Chairman

Peterson is the managing partner with the Raleigh law firm of Goddard & Peterson, PLLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal and traffic violations, along with foreclosures and civil litigation. He has served as an adjunct professor of Law at Vance Granville Community College and Louisburg College. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Wake County Bar, and the 10th Judicial District. Mr. Peterson is licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina and before the U.S. Federal Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. Mr. Peterson received a B.A. degree in Speech and Communication Studies, and a B.A. degree in Sociology from Clemson University and he received his J.D. degree from the North Carolina Central School of Law.
Katrina Cooke -Treasurer
email@example.comKatrina Cooke is the newest addition to the Falls Lake Academy board. Katrina was raised in Northern Durham and attended Northern Durham High School. She received her BA in Psychology with a concentration in Political Science from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. After 16 years she along with her children made the decision to move back to the Durham/Granville County area from Greensboro. Katrina has a background in product management, pharmaceutical and building material sales. She has been an active volunteer with Guildford County schools and is a current Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She is a single mom with two boys, Logan (7) and Camden (5). Katrina is so excited to be part of the development of Falls Lake Academy and looks forward to helping bring such an amazing opportunity to Granville County.
KevinNolte@fallslakeacademy.com Kevin is a 20 year resident of the Triangle having moved here to attend college at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1995. Kevin received his bachelors degree in Ancient History and minor in Religious Studies in 1999, and promptly went to work in IT. He spent 6 years with IBM working in sales and is currently with Cisco Systems in RTP; where he works directly with the Department of Defense. Kevin has one son, Alex, a current second grader at FLA, and a daughter, Caroline, who cannot wait to join her brother at Falls Lake Academy! Kevin is active in the community, volunteering with the V-Foundation, Wounded Warriors, Spare Some for Autism and several other local charities. Kevin joined the BoD in the fall of 2014, while serving as the inaugural FLA Boys Soccer Coach.
PaulShelton@fallslakeacademy.com Paul is a new addition to the Board of Directors. He was born in Kinston, NC, and raised in Clinton, NC, the son of a Music Educator and a State Farm agent. Paul graduated with a BA in History from Virginia Tech, where he met his wife, Mara. They have two children, Ben and Reilly, that have both attended Falls Lake Academy since the opening of the school. Paul's background is in Pharmacy Management, Workflow, and Operations, and he is the Sr. Director, National Accounts, Alternate Site Pharmacy Services, for McKesson Corporation. Paul volunteers at Granville Little Theater and as the assistant coach for both men's and women's soccer at FLA as his schedule allows.
Brian Massengill - Vice Chairman
BrianMassengill@fallslakeacademy.com Brian Massengill is a new and motivated member of the Falls Lake cademy Board of Directors. He grew up in Granville County and graduated from South Granville high school in 1999. From there Brian attended Vance Granville Community College where he acquired his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He is married to his wonderful wife of 11 years, Jennifer. They have two children, Levi (5) who is in Kindergarten and Khloe (6) who is in First grade at Falls Lake Academy. Brian is a Sergeant for the Durham Police Department and has been there for 15 years. While working for the Durham Police Department he has had many roles including, Patrol Officer, supervisor of the Traffic and Crash Team and is currently the supervisor of the Durham Police Department’s Bicycle Unit. He is an active general instructor for the North Carolina Training and Standards and is an instructor for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He currently teaches bicycle and pedestrian safety classes across the state for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He is excited to join the Falls Lake Academy family and looks forward to working with the Staff and all the families that are a part of Falls Lake Academy.
Gina Stinnett - Secretary
GinaStinnett@fallslakeacademy.com Gina was raised in eastern North Carolina, moved to the Triangle area in 1994, and has spent the last 15 years as a resident of Granville County. She is married to Phil, and together they have two incredible children, Jake and Gwyn. Gina has a background in restaurant management, early childhood education, and currently works as an independent artist and interior designer. Gina's passion for design has led her to create custom furnishings, innovative works of art, and murals for a wide range of clients. She has been privileged to contribute artistically to the Parade of Homes in the Triangle over the years to include the Leukemia & Lymphoma Cure home. Since 2009, she has been an active volunteer with CureSearch for Children's Cancer, raising awareness, research funding, and fulfilling a founding role in a support network for families. Gina finds it very rewarding to volunteer her time and talent to her children's school. Her background in education was the driving force to join the FLA family, and she is excited to contribute to the future of Falls Lake Academy.
firstname.lastname@example.orgTracy Teal, vice chair of the Board, has been involved with FLA since the startup process in November 2010. She has an Associate of Science Degree from Peace College and a Doctorate of Pharmacy from UNC Chapel Hill. As the mother of both middle school and high school students at FLA, she is committed to providing a safe, positive, and successful learning environment. She spent countless hours volunteering in the school systems before coming to FLA. She is excited about the mission and focus for our school and the wonderful educational opportunities it provides for the students in our area. She and her husband, Jeff, have lived in Granville County for over 16 years now. They own and operate Quality Drugs in Butner.
