Due to the potential for icy road conditions tomorrow morning, Falls Lake Academy will operate on a two hour delay on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Students may report to campus beginning at 9:15am. Elementary classes begin at 9:45, middle school begins at 10:15, and high school begins at 10:45. All families should use their best judgement when traveling to and from school.
High School Juniors will NOT be taking the ACT tomorrow. You will receive information about a new test date from Mrs. Keith.

Falls Lake Academy opened its doors in 2013 as a public charter school in Southern Granville County in North Carolina. We currently serve approximately 1040 students in grades K-12. Optimal class size for each grade level is 20 students. Falls Lake Academy is a project based learning school. If you would like to find out more about Falls Lake Academy click here.

Falls Lake Academy (FLA) is a tuition-free public school. Any child who is qualified under the laws of North Carolina for admission to a public school is qualified for admission to Falls Lake Academy. FLA does not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion or ancestry. Children must be 5 (or older) on or before August 31, 2019 to be eligible for Kindergarten during the 2019-2020 school year. Enrollment Information for 2019-2020
The application period for the 2019-2020 school year will begin January 2, 2019. Applications can be completed electronically through a link found in the Admissions page. Email confirmations will be sent after applications are submitted. A computer will be available in the school office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm) for those wishing to submit an application in person. The application deadline is 5:00pm on Friday, March 1, 2019. Applications received after the deadline are not entered into the lottery, but will be placed at the end of the grade level waiting list. The lottery will be held on Friday, March 15th at 6:30pm in our school gymnasium. Visit our admission page for more information and links to the application.

Student Service Hour Requirements
- Students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade:
5 school-community service hours per year required for promotion to the next grade
- Students in grades 3-4-5:
7 school-community service hours per year required for promotion to the next grade
- Students in grades 6-7-8-9-10-11:
10 school-community service hours per year required for promotion to the next grade
All student school-community service hours must be performed in a pre-approved school or community service event or activity. Check with your PAA for pre-approval!

Parent hours are per family and should total 10. Your volunteer hours need to be time for/at the school. If you have any questions please call the Falls Lake Academy Main Office.
